Summer is approaching and that means vacation season. But this year, with skyrocketing 급등하는 gas prices, will likely see a drop in travel. A new survey shows 60% of Americans say that they have less money to spend on vacation and that’s making staycations a growing trend. NBC’s Kristen Dahlgren reports.

 

In Brevard County, Florida, Melissa Back and her family are staying home for the summer holidays. "I was just looking at flights alone for me. It was $500 just for me to take a flight and that didn't include the girls.” So they're here at the local beach.

 

Instead of vacations, many are choosing staycations. Local beaches have beefed up 증강하다 advertising to the home crowd. "We're spending between 60 and 70% more this year than last year on in-state advertising."
