50 만에 개성관광

From ABC News headquarters, this is World News with Charles Gibson. Shim In Goo waited 56 years for this moment. That’s my home over there, he says. And I used to play hide and seek 숨바꼭질 here. It was all grass back then. Shim fled 피난하다 from the communist North to the south by himself when he was 11 during the Korean War. He never saw his family again.

Now with a new family of his own, he’s finally back home in North Korea and at last, can say a proper 정식의 goodbye to his deceased 사망한 parents in this traditional way. Shim family is part of a new one-day bus tour to Kye-sung, offered to South Koreans for a glimpse 흘끗 of the reclusive 은둔한 nation.

Visits to scenic 경치가 아름다운 waterfalls, Buddhist temples, and historical sites, home of many legends and story tales in Korean history can be an emotional experience. This couple also revisiting their hometown says they are overwhelmed 압도되다, 어찌할 모르다 and saddened. The houses here are so empty, I couldn’t see people, couldn’t see trees.

North Korea minders 지키는 사람 are everywhere keeping a weary 싫증이 eye on visitors and even on themselves. This artist, selling his own painting, tries to promote his work. But minders immediately warn he should concentrate on selling them, instead of explaining them. Taking pictures of the real city like this, barren 불모인, hollow , and grey, can be a risk. Officials repeatedly warn they will take our camera away.

Unlike before, sales ladies are more aggressively 활발히 selling products with much more variety of goods at a higher price. A price, their rich South Korean brothers are willing to 기꺼이 ~하는 pay. With this new project, North Korea in desperate need for cash will be pocketing ~ 포켓에 넣다 $30,000 everyday, charging 청구하다 $200 per South Korean visitor. Not bad for giving away just a little peak 할증요금. Junhee Cho, ABC News, Kye-sung, North Korea.
